A new model for women's health: the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women's Health
Sinai Health is building a world-class centre that will address the full spectrum of health challenges women experience across their lives – bringing together specialized care, research and education in one integrated model.
This is more than a space. The Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health is a transformative shift in the ways we deliver care to women throughout their lives. Our work will help change standards for care delivery, train the next generation of care providers and conduct research with global reach.
We're uniting care to meet the urgent demand for improved access and delivery

Why Sinai Health
Our expertise and vision position us to lead the world with a Centre dedicated to mature women’s health research, education and care.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've surpassed our initial fundraising goals. But this is just the beginning. With your support, we can build on this momentum to attract further investment, rally the community around this important cause, and reach more women whose needs are still being overlooked.
Sinai Health is already leading in mature women’s health:
- Our internationally recognized menopause clinics support a growing number of patients, with clinical volumes growing more than 150% in just two years, reflecting rapid expansion in capacity and demand.
- We are home to the first and only program treating all women experiencing premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). The POI clinic at the Centre is the first in Canada for these broad patient populations and one of the only ones in the country to integrate research in these underserved areas.
- Sinai Health is one of the only academic centres in the world to make menopause and women’s health a key strategic priority.
- Our donors have helped establish North America's first endowed clinical chair in menopause, the Carol Mitchell Chair in Menopause.
- Ours is one of the only postgraduate fellowship programs in menopause in North America, with more than 30 Fellows trained since 2004 across Canada and globally.
- The SHE-CAN Clinic is Canada’s first specialized clinic focusing on genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) in breast cancer patients – integrating research with patient care.
- Through the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health, Sinai Health is one of Canada’s leading academic hospitals for equipping primary care providers with the knowledge and tools to deliver better menopause care.
