Coming together for a cause: The power of community fundraisers

We can do more when we do things together.

Our community shows up in incredibly creative ways to support life-changing care and research, turning ordinary moments into opportunities to give back. Whether you are dedicating your next race to raising funds, celebrating your next special occasion or bringing together a group of friends for a shared activity you all love, any moment can make a big impact.

Check out some of the fun ways our community has rallied together to raise funds in support of the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health over the last few months!

The first-ever Jingle, Mingle and Mahj was competition for a cause

Originating in China more than a century ago, Mahjong is a tile-based game that has exploded in popularity among diverse cultures and communities over the last few years. So, when Jen Lambert and Claire Rankine were dreaming up a creative way to bring their friends together to fundraise for women’s health research, they decided a Mahjong tournament would be a perfect fit!

On December 3, 2025, they brought together more than 100 spirited players for the first ever Jingle, Mingle and Mahj event at the Granite Club. Complete with festive cocktails, enthusiastic competition and support from OLLY, a company that sells vitamins and health supplements, the memorable evening raised $22,000 in support of the Centre. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for this memorable event!

“Jingle, Mingle & Mahjong was created to bring connection and purpose together in a meaningful way. Gathering our community in support of women’s health, and raising over $20,000 in the process, was incredibly meaningful to us and a powerful reminder of the impact that’s possible when people come together,” said Co-Hosts Jen Lambert and Claire Rankine.

The Goddess Gathering at Revive Wellness

Our friends at Revive Wellness Club hosted a special gathering on January 24, inviting folks to join them for an afternoon of education, restoration and community – all while raising funds in support of women’s health. The Goddess Gathering invited participants to engage in breathwork, cold plunges, sauna and a nurturing tea circle – creating a space to pause, restore and rise collectively.

With a focus on women’s health, the gathering honoured the challenges, transitions and transformations women experience at every stage of life in a supportive environment focused on meaningful connection, shared stories and learning alongside trusted wellness professionals. We’re grateful to the Revive Wellness team for supporting our work to advance women’s health research and care through events like this one!
